My friends and I were strolling Little Tokyo and wanted to grab a bite to eat. We saw a small line in front and decided to put our names down on the waitlist. For a party of 4, it took us about 30 minutes to get seated inside. Once inside, we were immediately greeted by our waitress and got our drinks ordered. The feel of the interior of a lot like the typical ramen bar with booth seating and some counter spots. We got our orders taken super fast, and it didn't take long to get our ramen as well. We all ordered the daikokuya ramen and it was very flavorful. The broth was creamy but not too heavy, and I loved that the ramen noodles were a bit chewy. The meat as well was very tender and soft, with a melt-in-your-mouth flavor. The portion was just enough for me to finish up and feel very full. If I was in the area, I would definitely stop by here again for a bite!

I had an amazing experience at Daikokuya Little Tokyo! After coming to downtown for a concert, I was looking for a place to eat, and I'm so glad I found this gem. The spicy tuna roll was incredibly fresh, and the flavors packed a perfect punch. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside--absolutely delicious! The spicy edamame was the perfect appetizer to kick things off, with just the right amount of heat and seasoning. What made the experience even better was the fantastic service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, Daikoku Ramen exceeded my expectations and provided a memorable meal before the concert. Highly recommend!

We love Daikokuya! I came here on a rainy evening in LA after a long Wednesday at work. This place was just the pick me up I needed! Since it was a weekday, the line was not long at all. The wait was about 10 minutes and we got seated in a nice booth. We ordered right away since we had time to think about our order as we waited and to our surprise, it did not take even five minutes for our hot bowl of Ramen and fresh sashimi bowls to arrive at our table! The portions are so generous, and the fish was so fresh in the poke and sashimi bowls. Service was fast and very friendly, even though they are working so hard to serve and see people in such a small venue! Speaking of, the restaurant is really quaint and always packed with people who come all around LA just to eat at this iconic restaurant. Now that I have tried for myself, I can tell why this place is so popular! The food is delicious, great value, service is spectacular, and the restaurant has such a great energy to it! This will be a go-to spot for me!

This place was on my list for a long time. Finally walked in on a weekday for lunch. The place was stinking a bit with a damp smell. Service was really quick. I tried the creamy ramen and spicy ramen. Both were really good and fresh. They do take card payments as well. Overall good experience and great food

I came here on a rainy night and there was still a mini wait list. It took less than 3 min to get seated at the "bar area" and from there we got served right away. I ordered the miso ramen while my fiancé ordered the spicy miso. Both brothes were so delicious and flavorful. I'm not that great with spicy so when I tried his I was only able to take like two scoops of the brothe before I was done. We also tried the chicken karage, it was okay. I've had better, there's was a little too soft and not so crunchy which I didn't like so much. But overall it was a great first try. I'm not sure I would come again as I don't like the seating/ ambiance arrangement.

After a flight of whiskey at Wolf & Crane on 2nd Street, a bite to eat was in order before the drive home. Nick A. recommended this spot so I tagged along for the experience. Out front we were told they had a waitlist for tables, but the bar was open. Easy decision, right? The standard house Ramen bowl is a Tonkotsu style broth for $17. I liked the looks of the sushi menu, and ordered a spicy Tuna roll. The roll came out pretty fast and appeared to have been made to order. The rice was fresh and the Tuna spicy (you'd be surprised how wimpy other places are in this matter). Very good! For some reason the server brought me a side of corn, I didn't order any. Later it appeared on my bill ($1.50), but since I did add some to my Ramen I decided not to challenge it. The Ramen itself was pretty good. Not too salty, the pork was thinly sliced and a tad tough correspondingly, but overall, very good also. Service was decent aside from the corn thing, and there was little waiting for food or getting the bill paid, tableside (or counter in this case). I'd definitely come back to try other things in the future. In the past they only accepted cash but today credit cards are preferred.

Daikokuya is a ramen staple for a reason, consistently delivering bold flavors and comforting bowls that hit the spot. Among their offerings, the Spicy Miso Ramen and Classic Ramen stand out as two must-try options. The Spicy Miso Ramen is perfect for those who crave a fiery, flavorful experience. The broth is rich and layered, with the miso base providing a hearty depth that complements the spice beautifully. It's not just about heat; the spiciness enhances the umami-packed flavors without overpowering them. The noodles are cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chew, and the chashu is tender and flavorful, practically melting in your mouth. The addition of the perfectly soft-boiled egg with a creamy yolk takes it to the next level. On the other hand, the Classic Ramen is a more traditional yet equally satisfying choice. The tonkotsu broth is creamy and packed with porky goodness, offering a rich, comforting flavor that warms you from the inside out. It's an excellent example of how simple, high-quality ingredients can shine when executed well. The noodles and toppings, including the chashu, green onions, and bamboo shoots, create a harmonious, timeless bowl of ramen. While the flavor and quality are undeniable, a few factors keep Daikokuya from earning a perfect score. The prices are on the higher side, which can make it feel like a special-occasion treat rather than an everyday meal. Additionally, while the menu offers classics done right, it doesn't bring many surprises or innovations to the table. The wait times, especially during peak hours, can also be a bit long, though the food usually makes up for the wait. Overall, Daikokuya is an excellent choice for ramen lovers who value bold, comforting flavors and expertly crafted bowls. The Spicy Miso Ramen and Classic Ramen are both fantastic representations of their dedication to qualit
